SOMERS — State police on Wednesday charged a Massachusetts man with a housebreaking during which greater than $1,700 value of clothes and jewellery was stolen from a neighborhood residence final August.
Wayne Mecteau, 40, of Chicopee was charged with third-degree housebreaking, third-degree prison mischief, and fourth-degree larceny within the break-in, which occurred Aug. 14 on Kibbe Drive.
Police say Mecteau stole about $1,765 value of clothes and jewellery from the house.
In the course of the investigation, Simsbury police knowledgeable state police that they have been investigating an identical housebreaking involving a silver 2018 Nissan Sentra with New York plates and a person with an outline matching Mecteau’s.
